Everyone Needs to Unplug Sometimes

We get as wired in as anyone. Between work, play, and simply looking for distraction, we’ll be the first to admit how easy it is to spend many hours a day staring at a screen.

But we just want to put out a friendly reminder that all of us need to unplug sometimes. Seriously, if you’re scrolling like mad and wondering why you’re feeling stressed, put your phone down.

Go for a walk.

Smell the air. Hopefully it’s fresh. Take in the sunshine or the rain or the cloudy gray sky. Feel your feet press against the pavement or the dirt.

Laugh a little at the sense of urgency you’re probably carrying (if you’re like us, anyway). Emails, texts, Instagram — none of it matters nearly as much as we think it does.

None of it is more important than what’s here and now.

Turn your attention inward. Breathe. Exhale. Breathe. Feel your heart beating.

Be in your body.

Be in yourself.

All the rest can wait.
